Unlikely Pairings

Unlikely Pairings

Series Start Date: May 1, 2022

When you look at the cast of characters that Jesus called to serve in ministry you quickly see that this is an unlikely group of people working with Jesus. In those pairings, Jesus does some incredible work in and through the people he has called. Today the church has 'unlikely pairings' a group of people with diverse backgrounds and ways of looking at the world. Yet the same God that called for the 12 disciples calls forth people like you and me to work collaboratively for change in the world. Without you, there is no church. In this series, we will look at the disciples of Jesus as our backdrop to uncover the move of God in the church. Go to series page

        Rooted:A Series on Mental Health

        Rooted:A Series on Mental Health

Series Start Date: January 23, 2022

1 Colossians 2:6-7 says, 'So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.' Roots might be easy to place in the ground but to get growing and solid there may need to be a bit of work. Sometimes we are uprooted, and it causes us to search for new ground. Starting January 23rd, we will gather at all of our services for an important series based on mental health. I can't emphasize how important I feel this series is for all of us here at Mineral Springs. We will hear from mental health experts, testimonies, and do some work at connecting you with resources to continue that journey of healing and wholeness.

Aside from our Sunday Worship, we will gather every week on Wednesday nights in the CLC for dinner and a continuing of our conversation with our very own Rodney Little, MHDL. He has worked in the field of social work for over 30 years and has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work for the last 14 years. Rodney will draw from his background in grief work, frontline child welfare work, and supervision, as well as work with families dealing with suicidality, substance use, and trauma, to lead these discussions. We will also have Tonia Deese, MSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker a Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work. She is a certified clinical trauma specialist and has been providing therapy to children, teens, adults, and families for over 12 years. Tonia is the owner of Full Circle Wellness, PLLC, and specializes in working with those who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, body image, and self-esteem.

Tonia enjoys providing Christian counseling, as faith has been an important part of her own healing process.

The Wednesday night sessions will be as follows:

January 26: Depression, Anxiety, and Seasonal Affective Disorder: Managing the issues.

February 2: Supporting those struggling with Substance Use.

February 9: Confronting Suicidality and finding help.

February 16 How do we heal from Traumas in our life?

Please join us for both our Sunday sermon each week as we reveal God's word in each of these issues and on Wednesday night to learn more about the issues and how we as Christians support our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Our time will be based around Colossians and the call of Christians to allow God to be Lord of their life. Go to series page

7 Habits of Highly Ineffectual Disciples (A Study Through Proverbs)

7 Habits of Highly Ineffectual Disciples (A Study Through Proverbs)

Series Start Date: October 3, 2021

          This series is called
"7 Habits of Ineffectual Disciples" and is based on the 7 things that are listed in Proverbs 6 that the Lord 'detests'. At the end of the day, we want to be strong
in our faithfulness to God not weak in the way that we conduct ourselves. We will gather together as Disciples of the Lord and listen to the wisdom to be had
in Proverbs. We will allow for God's word to refocus and refine our attention toward being Disciples as he has called us to live. I hope that you might join us
for this series. Go to series page

train, and rekindle the calling of a follower of Jesus. The pastoral epistles are three books in the New Testament: the First Epistle to Timothy the Second
Epistle to Timothy, and the Epistle to Titus. They are letters from Paul the Apostle to Timothy and to Titus. These letters are also written to us Mineral Springs and we are going to journey together listening for what God has to say. Go to series page

          After God's Own Heart

Series Start Date: July 11, 2021

Starting July 11th we will begin a new series 'After God's Own Heart' A Study through the book of 2 Samuel. 2 Samuel tells the story of King David and his
rise toward the Monarchy. Through the ups and downs of the story, we see a desire to run after many things, but
one that we are designed to go after is God's, Own Heart. Just like David, we must pursue God's heart. Won't you join us as we pursue the heart of God. Go to series page

Seats: A Study Through 1 Samuel

Seats: A Study Through 1 Samuel

Series Start Date: May 29, 2021

Our new series 'Seats' is based on the book of 1 Samuel. We will journey together
looking at the lives of David, Samuel, Saul, Johnathan, and God's People as they help us
to shed light on our own journey. Originally 1 & 2 Samuel was one historical book but
through the years it was separated into two different books in the canon. The first book
of Samuel covers a time of about 90 years starting at Samuel's birth around 1100 BC
unto the death of Saul around the year 1010 BC. So often we have seats in life that are
given to us or ones that we try to take for ourselves. The places we seat ourselves are so
important for our journey with God. We hope that you might come and 'sit' with us
through this series as we look at the life of David and the many seats that he and the
others around him take. Go to series page

            Servant Savior

            Servant Savior

Series Start Date: February 21, 2021

Our Lenten Series begins February 21st. Mark's gospel, the shortest one, has as its purpose to present the Lord Jesus as the suffering servant. Mark 10:45 ‘For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.' Mark's view of the Lord Jesus as a servant savior amazes us and reminds us of our own need to serve. It was not so much Jesus' words as His works that Mark emphasizes. Mark's gospel is a gospel of action; we see Jesus on the move. I pray that you will join us for the 40 days of Lent as we walk through this gospel looking to the one named Jesus. Go to series page
