Meet The Team
Rev. Eric Lane
Rev. Eric Lane was appointed to MSUMC in July of 2016. Prior to coming to Mineral Springs, Eric served Ebenezer UMC Granite Falls for 14 years. Eric received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and his Master of Divinity Degree from Hood Theological Seminary. His favorite part of ministry work is connecting with people and doing life together.
Eric is married to Beth Lane and they have 3 daughters, Melissa Wilson and husband Chris, Jamie Starbuck and husband James, and Lindsey Franklin and husband Joey. They have one son, Kevin Lane, and are the proud grandparents of 6 beautiful grandchildren: Kalieb, Easton, Jace, Kinley, Maggie, and Axel.
Eric definitely doesn’t sit around much. In his spare time, you can find him out kayaking, hiking, and riding his motorcycle. Catch him if you can!
Director of Traditional Worship Music
Christa has been an involved member at MSUMC for a long time, but officially joined the church staff in June of 2016. Her educational background was in interior design (she likes to say she got paid for giving her opinion!) but her other love has always been in music. She was the Music Director for Prospect UMC between 1997-2002, and teaches private piano lessons. What she loves most about her job is the privilege of helping usher the Holy Spirit into corporate worship services and see the joy on people’s faces when the praise begins.
She is a newlywed, marrying her husband Farhad Hosseini in a surprise wedding at her parents 50th anniversary celebration. Together they have 3 children: Bryce, Garrett , and Christina, and her husband, Jeffrey, who have blessed them with grandson, Colton.
Christa is a passionate gardener, but not necessarily the ordinary kind, like pulling weeds – she likes what she calls “glamorous gardening” – caring for flowers, deadheading, and flower arranging. She does like to mow, but now that she’s married, she lets her hubby ride the mower! Some other favorite activities include going to Sonic drive-in on Saturday nights and pretending it is 1950. As a self-professed Pinterest addict, she loves cooking and baking – especially the eating part!
Director of Modern Worship (The Bridge)
Chris Hartis joined the staff at MSUMC in October 2019, but has been a volunteer in the Bridge band since 2016. He is a graduate of Sun Valley High School and has lived in Union County his whole life. He has always had a love of music. Chris has played music semi-professionally since the age of 14 with many local and regional musicians. His favorite part of worship is using music to connect people with God.
Chris is married to Donna Hartis. They enjoy gardening and dogs. In his spare time, his hobbies are reading and chess.
Ian M. Faires
Ian M. Faires, a native of Charlotte, NC and currently resides in Oakboro, NC. Ian received his Bachelor of Music degree from Appalachian State University in 1999. He has been playing in churches since he was 12 years old. Ian also holds a North Carolina Teaching Certification. He began his teaching career in Mooresville, NC at Mooresville Intermediate and High Schools. He then moved to Indian Trail, NC in 2005 where he began the band programs at Porter Ridge Middle and High Schools and remained there until 2018. After a brief stint teaching in Fort Collins, CO, Ian returned to North Carolina to begin a career in the music industry as an Educational Representative for Howren Music and Sound. Ian began playing in church at 12 years old, where he would play offertories for his home church of Robinson Presbyterian Church. When he moved to Mooresville, Ian played piano for Southside Baptist Church and then moved to become the assistant music minister at Mt. Zion UMC in Cornelius. In 2005, he began playing at First Baptist Church in Indian Trail and then moved to Faith UMC in Lake Park. After leaving there, he began an 11 year stint as the service accompanist at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Weddington. In his free time, Ian enjoys reaching and helping others attain their fitness goals as well as working at the Fresh Market in the deli department and playing for local community and school’s musicals. Ian is thrilled and blessed to play at Mineral Springs and looks forward to being here for many, many years.
Margaret and her husband, John transferred their membership from Central UMC in Monroe in 1981 to become part of MSUMC. She spent 31 years of her career teaching in Union County Schools before retiring in 2004, but she wasn’t done yet! She promptly took on leading the Preschool at MSUMC and enjoys her work with those sweet pre-school children and their teachers. The favorite part of her job is all the hugs and kisses she gets treated to everyday!
She and John have three adult children: Beth and husband Jason, who have given them two of their older grandsons, Silas and Will; Anna and husband Tyler, with their two younger grandsons, Wes and JT; and son, Buck, who lives in Charlotte.
In her spare time, Margaret really enjoys flower gardening, working in the yard, cooking and doing home projects.
Stacy became involved first as a parent when her youngest daughter was enrolled in the preschool. She was invited to join the staff of MSUMC Preschool in 2008, first working in the toddler room, and now as a Music and Literacy teacher. In 2015 she was asked to also join the church staff as the Children’s Coordinator for the children’s ministry.
Stacey works three jobs, and all of them involve working with children, so when asked what she loves most about her work, she will say it is getting to see all the smiling faces of these children.
Stacy is married to a wonderful man, Danny, and they have two daughters – 17 and 12 years old. With three jobs (besides parenting!) she certainly doesn’t have much spare time, but they make it a priority to carve out family time each Friday night for dinner out. If she does manage to find the time, she enjoys making wreaths and wood signs.
Pam has been the Administrative Assistant at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church for the past ten years. Before joining the staff team she had a varied work life; such as purchasing manager, customer service, quality control, payroll, shipping and receiving… hmmm, sounds like she was perfectly prepared and trained for all she does in the office at church! She also sells Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Pam is married to Don and they have two adult daughters, Summer and Brandi, whom she adores just a little more than she does her pets! She is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, softball coach and player, and loves the outdoors, the beach, and reading by her pool.
Pam lives by the priorities of God first, family second, and career third. She joyfully serves countless hours each week as the Lay Servant Director of the Rock Hill District, at PUMC as the alternate Lay delegate for Annual Conference, serving on her Church Council and as the Worship/Altar Guild chairperson. She also facilitates Adult Sunday School, is active in United Methodist Women, sings in the chancel choir and praise band, plays hand bells, and directs the Pre-K children’s choir. Whew!
Clearly, her favorite thing about her job is serving the Lord in all she does and working in fellowship with God’s people to His glory.
Next Gen. Pastor
Daniel Parker joined our team here at Mineral Springs in December 2018. Prior to coming to Mineral Springs, Daniel served as the youth minister at Quaker Gap Baptist church for 10 years. Daniel has a B.A in youth ministry and minor in Religion from Lee University, in Cleveland TN. Daniel loves working with the youth of the church, as they are our future.
Daniel is married to Ashleigh Parker and they have two beautiful young daughters, Rilee, who is 3 and Ella, who is 1. Daniel is originally from Puerto Rico, where he spent his entire childhood. He is bi-lingual and loves a good game of Soccer. He is a die hard Ohio State Football fan and has no shame about it.
