Mineral Springs UMC Preschool
Founded in 1997, Mineral Springs UMC Preschool is a Christian-based program only a short drive from Waxhaw and Wesley Chapel. The staff is known for “loving our students into learning.” Two, three, four, or five-day programs are available for students ages ranging from 18 months to 4 years old. The school is in session from 9:00AM to noon with an optional Lunch Bunch program until 1:00PM.
More information about cost and registration is available in “Our Story” on the school’s Facebook page.

Age-appropriate social skills are encouraged while expanding basic tools needed for kindergarten readiness. Using the ABeka Curriculum, we strive to help the children become enthusiastic and independent learners. This requires hands on activities and a lot of play! Play is the “work” of children that provides the foundation for their academic learning.
The school’s program is designed to meet the spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of the whole child. Low teacher/student ratios make more individual attention possible where the children learn to express themselves and make age appropriate choices. We strive to maintain a nurturing, safe, and healthy environment where families feel welcome and the doors of communication are open.
Each class participates in weekly chapel lessons that focus on developing a relationship with God and a simple understanding of Bible stories from both the Old and New Testaments. Weekly enrichment classes include a Music Class where the students prepare for a Christmas and Spring Program for their families and a Literacy Class that allows students to explore and learn to love books.
Sheltered play areas and a gym make daily physical play available in all kind of weather – rain or shine.
All through the year, some of the special events that are planned include individual birthday celebrations, Fall Festivals, Thanksgiving, Happy Birthday Jesus Parties, Fun with Dr. Seuss, Saint Patrick’s Day and Leprechaun Visits, Palm Sunday and The Last Supper, Easter Egg Hunts, Pastries with Parents, Art Show, Kick Off to Summer and Graduation.
Stop by and visit – a tour of the school can be set up at your convenience.
We strive to provide an environment where children are free to express themselves and are encouraged to make age-appropriate choices. A place that is physically safe and healthy, welcoming to the children as well as their families. We encourage our children to know God and pray; we also value open communication so that we may provide encouragement to families while also producing a loving and nurturing atmosphere.
This program is designed to meet the needs of the whole child. Our program will include activities that will help the child grow in the following areas:
Spiritual: To help children become aware that they are children of God, and that they are worthy of love and acceptance. They will experience Bible stories, say prayers, sing songs, and play games that will help them learn about God.
Social: To help children feel comfortable in school, trust their new environment, make friends, accept others, and learn to follow directions.
Emotional: To help children develop self-confidence, independence, self-control, and have positive attitudes.
Cognitive: To provide a learning environment in which children learn by playing, exploring, experimenting, sharing, speaking, and dramatizing. They will explore basic skills such as colors, shapes, numbers, and alphabet introduced in a way that makes learning meaningful and fun, as well as encourage creativity through music, art, drama, and literature.
Physical: To help children increase their large and small motor and muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do through both indoor and outdoor activities.
